Media Communication

We are all consumers of media

Are we also consumed by media?

Media Communication is a course that is intended to raise students’ awareness of the effects of media on society and life.

Since most of us are raised since birth in a media-intense environment, our responses and reactions to mediated communication tend to be deeply habitual… and therefore not deeply examined.

This course helps students begin to understand the differences between the media-induced “pictures in their heads” and whatever might be considered the objective realities of communal and individual existence.

TV viewing is a required part of the curriculum.
